You may have noticed the Real Agent Memo becoming more infrequent lately.
That’s because I’ve decided to shift focus for 2024, and I need to concentrate all my energy on the task at hand.
Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere!
Agent Skills is my baby. I’m proud of what I’ve created, and it’s every bit as relevant for Canadian REALTORS® today as it’s ever been.
If you’re currently enrolled in the Agent Skills Masters Program, or you’re a graduate, or even if you join later this year, you will continue to get the exact same level of ongoing support from me.
(Part of being enrolled in Agent Skills is the ability to have a brain-storming session with me any time you want, about literally anything.) Several past students call me regularly to consult about a challenge they’re having, and I sincerely enjoy this part of my role as a teacher/mentor.)
The one and only change I’m making is pausing the RAM for a while. You might be surprised that something that takes you 2-3 minutes to read typically takes me 5-6 hours to write.
I know! I tend to be a perfectionist about it, but it’s crucial for me to put out only top-quality stuff.
So, what am I doing?
For now, the teacher will become a student. I’m going to put myself out there to learn more and focus my energy on optimizing my real estate business. Part of this involves parking my ego and learning from people who are much younger than me and have much less business experience than me!
But they know different things. And I want to know those things.
Don’t let your ego stop you from growing, I’m not!
If you’re a graduate of Agent Skills, feel free to call and ask me for more details. I’m happy to share! Graduates only, please, and thank you.
I’m unsure when I’ll return, but it’ll probably be at least six months. I’ll miss doing this, but I want you (my faithful readers) to know that this is 100% a positive thing for me, personally. I’m excited! I’m also apprehensive, knowing I’ll need to push myself far outside my comfort zone, but I’m going for it.
Please wish me luck!
Here’s one last word of wisdom:
Buy this book: “Willpower Doesn’t Work” by Benjamin Hardy.
The author is a leading authority in his field, an exceptionally talented writer, and an incredible human being, all at once! I’m awestruck by this rare combination of attributes.
I’ve read the book, but now I’m starting it over and taking notes. You can save time by just taking notes as you go. Honestly, if you can’t learn to improve your life by reading this book, you’re not even trying.
That’s it for now!
If you miss me too much, there are about 200 RAMS here.
Take the bull by the horns, Never stop learning.
Until next time, whenever that is…
